It seems that I’m neglect my man’s health by proxy. He started smoking when he was 13 old and that was ingrained by the time I met him.

But later he found another poison. Ice Break coffee milk comes in the regular one, which comes in the coffee colored plastic bottle. Whenever I go to the shops, which is a hop and a skip to the shopping center, he reminds me to get it. He always wants it in the 2 liter bottle, with the triple shot (dark brown bottle). And he drinks it all of it in one sitting.

I know that if he was an alcoholic, or hooked on recreational drugs it would be much, much worse. But it’s still unhealthy. Beside the very strong coffee, it’s loaded with sugar. And he’ll grumble if I forget.

If my significant other and I could buy a house, we’d adopt another dog, and maybe another if I could afford to. But what I do hoard is BOOKS! I have bookshelves on every walls in the house.

It always looks unkempt, but I wash the bedclothes regularly. Why? Because it’s fruitless when the dog is still on the bed, pushing the sheets and/or blanket, to make a nest, or else it’s a bit cold and he wants to get under the bedclothes.

I mentioned this on Quora, and one person was disgusted that I’d sleep with my dog, even though I wash him dog). But a cohort of dog-lovers who showed pictures of their dogs. One lady had two dogs lying on the bed…(were they Doberman or Great Danes! I don’t remember.) Needless to say, the bed was very big!

Unlike things, pets are loving and loyal and they won’t abandon us. That’s why I try to give the same love. Because I live in a rental house, I can only have one dog at a time but he is the King!
In fact, one of then would growl at me when he wanted my attention. It’s lucky that my partner loves dogs as much as me, but he said I was unwise to let him “get me over a barrel”, as he said.

I was lucky that he had a lot of empathy!

Most pets, dogs and other animals are intuitive and want to to protect them. If my partner welcomed a narcissist into our home, he’d keep a good eye on them. He thinks I’m the weakest of his pack and tries to protect me (because I spoil him). But a lot of people can’t spot a narcissist. Cats do it to. The disdainful stare; “I don’t want you here!” in Cat Language. “Growl. Snarl!” in Doggy Language.

Sure, some narcissists may expect their guests to go their place, but sometimes narcissists might prefer to go a place where delicious food has been cooked. And a lot of alcoholic beverages to sip. And they don’t have to clear the table or wash the dishes.

Of course, if we were to find that this guest was were a narcissist, we’d never have them back!

I’d love to see a study on animals behaviour around narcissists. Especially dogs!

“Narcissist friends usually expect you to go to their place. But are reluctant to visit you. (UNLESS THEY DON’T HAVE A HOME THAT CAN FACILILITATE GUESTS).

I’m a bit of a foodie…and have a sweet tooth into the bargain. Then I decided to make home-made sausage rolls. My partner showed me how. He helped me to make them, I’m sure because he wanted some. We didn’t put any onions in the filling, so that our dog could have some.

Of course, if an narcissist did made it through our hallows halls, our dogs would sniff then out. And rightly. Who wants a narcissus sprawling on our comfortable couch, complaining about getting dog hair on their clothes, eating us out of house and home, drinking our wine and leave a mess in their wake. Of course, Pinky would have sniffed him out!

Sorry to hear what you’ve been going through Tammy. Complete no contact is usually the best strategy. And I know it might sound extreme, but it may be worth moving home, if you think he may try to find you when he’s released.

I bet I took mine back 50 times and the final straw- he beat me up and spent the day terrorizing me, holding me hostage, and actually bite me!! I finally had enough that Sunday. 7/23/23. He is in jail now for awhile. I dread the revenge when they do turn him out! But for now, it’s so peaceful and a joy everyday!
